Meet Laura Davis

Laura Davis

Principal and Senior Event Manager

Laura Davis has been professionally planning events since January 2001. An active member of the Association of Bridal Consultants and the National Association of Catering Executives, Laura is committed to continuing her education in the wedding and event industry. She regularly attends educational workshops and meetings through the Michigan chapters of ABC and NACE and has also participated in 21st Century Nuptials, a symposium for wedding consultants, in Las Vegas.

Laura is the Michigan State Coordinator for the Association of Bridal Consultants. She is a Distinguished Graduate of the ABC Professional Development Program and obtained the ranking of Accredited Bridal Consultant™. Laura is one of 43 Accredited Bridal Consultants worldwide.

Before starting her own company, Laura worked in event planning for a large public relations firm in metro Detroit, working on auto shows and the Woodward Dream Cruise for one of the Big Three automakers. She left the firm after the birth of her first child and was offered an opportunity to continue to plan events as a freelancer. After much thought, she decided to go in a different direction and open her own business, allowing herself to dictate her own path while remaining in the event planning field.

Upon her husband's suggestion, she started looking into social events planning, specifically weddings. They had hired a day-of wedding coordinator for their own wedding and had always felt that it was one of the best decisions they made. Once she researched the field, Laura realized that the skills she had gained in the corporate world were directly applicable and would serve as a solid foundation. With that, she began Laura Davis Weddings.

Since the beginning, Laura's guiding business principle has been slow, measured growth. By structuring her company in this way, she has succeeded in growing her company while still giving her clients the high level of service they expect. Laura's professionalism, solid reputation and attention to detail have allowed her to expand her business beyond weddings and into other special events. In December 2007, she officially changed the company name to Laura Davis Events in order to better represent the wide variety of events they coordinate…weddings, social occasions and corporate events.
